Resist sharing “human” food that is not from a food group that is safe for your dog may help prevent tooth decay. Check with your vet to have your dog’s mouth checked.

Pumpkin is a good source of fibre and beta-carotene (Vitamin A). It is also a natural cure for diarrhea or constipation. Try introducing a couple of tablespoons of canned plain natural pumpkin or cooked puree pumpkin.

Baking for Dogs

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup of spelt flour
1/2 cup of wheat germ
1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1 egg
1/2 cup of cold water
1 teaspoon of parsley

Preheat oven to 350’F
Combine ingredients into a dough-like texture by hand
Roll out onto baking sheet (roughly 24 pieces)
Bake for about 20 minutes or until lightly browned

Check with your dog nutritionist before changing anything in their meal plan.

Dog food that is crunchy and dry is an easy way to keep decay and food buildup to a minimal. Providing your dog with toys or safe bones to chew on can also help clean their teeth.
